Group Piano 4 Harmonization Video

This video podcast shows me teaching a Group Piano Level 4 Class. We work on harmonizing a melody by ear. The melody in this case is "Live and Let Die" by Paul McCartney and Wings. Feel free to leave comments or suggestions on the blog, or pull up a keyboard and play along if you want!

I just wanted to say 'thank you' for these blog entries; I ;ve had a look at this one and the Coldplay clocks one, so far.

I'm in my 40s and bought a piano a few years ago and took some lessons because I have always wanted to play. Finding time to practice and get to the lessons is tricky, with a family, but these podcasts have really re-lit my desire to get stuck in... .and being able to watch them when I get a moment is very handy. The harmonizing by ear lesson is just such great fun.

Anyway, thanks once again. If you get the time and the inclination to put more lessons up, there will be at least one person lapping them up. Keep up the good work

Chris,
I'm always glad to hear that these podcasts have helped someone out or inspired them to get to the keyboard. I hope you'll find the time to find a teacher for either lessons or group classes as these podcasts don't really serve as a substitution for "real" lessons.
Nonetheless, I'm curious what podcast consumers like yourself would like to see/hear in future episodes. It becomes a lot more fun to do these when they are interactive and I know what you want to see and learn. Feel free to drop me an email or leave suggestions in the comments to the podcast.

Wow! I'm a marimbist, it's nearly two in the morning, and yet your piano podcasts are totally sucking me in. I saw this video on youtube first, and I thought you looked like a great teacher that I'd really enjoy learning from... even though I'm not a pianist. A few minutes later I was looking up some piano how-to lessons and saw your 'Clocks' video. I just wanted to thank you for all these excellent podcasts. You seem to be inspiring people while doing what you love, and it doesn't get much better than that.
